An adventurous Nigerian bravely set out on a five-day journey that began at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos and finished at the hospital.
He was seen in a widely shared photograph lying on a hospital bed getting treatment for what seemed to be burns. Wene, the gallant young Nigerian who undertook the challenging five-day marathon from Lagos to Port Harcourt in an effort to break the Guinness World Record, appears to have struggled.
The report was corroborated by him on his Facebook page, which he shared with the remark “The pain is unbearable.” He is currently in the hospital getting the required care.
In order to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, he started a five-day solo marathon from Lagos State to Port Harcourt, Rivers State. On Sunday, October 15, the Port Harcourt teenager posted a status update on Facebook announcing his attempt to break the Guinness World Record.
Wene acknowledged that it appeared to be an insurmountable obstacle and invited others to accompany him on the journey. According to a training leaflet, the journey started on October 17 and was scheduled to end on October 21.
Tuesday about four in the morning, Wene left Lekki Toll Gate. On October 21, he published a status update on his Facebook page announcing that his five-day marathon walk had ended when he reached Rivers State.
A remark or comment regarding the Nigerian’s successful completion of the five-day marathon has not yet been made by Guinness World Records. Fans sent comments on his page and sent “Quick recovery” messages in response to the hospital photo.
