Victor Osimhen scored a hat-trick as Nigeria thrashed Sao Tome and Principe 6-0 in their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Sunday.

The Napoli striker opened the scoring in the 13th minute before adding his second through a penalty kick in the 69th minute. Before finishing his hat-trick in the 79th minute.

Taiwo Awoniyi, the in-form Nottingham Forest striker, scores, while Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman also score for Nigeria, who dominated the game from start to finish.

Nigeria now leads Group A with 15 points from six games and will travel to the 2023 AFCON tournament as the group leader.

Victor Osimhen is the first player ever to score 10 goals in a single AFCON qualifying campaign.
