Dr. Lawrence Bayode, INEC Deputy Director, ICT, and defence witness of the electoral umpire at the ongoing Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, PEPT, has admitted in Court that the snapping of Form EC8A and electronic transmission of the election result from the polling booth is necessary and fundamental to the completion of the electoral process at the polling booth.

He made the disclosure despite apparent attempts, by Counsel to President Bola and the All Progressives Congress, APC, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, to shut him down.

Responding to a question from Labour Party counsel, Patrick  Ikwueto, SAN, on User Acceptance Test performed on INEC’s iRev in February just before the election, the INEC IT Deputy Director said: “Our Server was not vulnerable.” Bayode, who pastors a church refused to swear by the Bible.
