In moments when history demands clarity, conviction, and courage, great parties are often defined by the quality of leadership they choose to follow. The recent nomination of Barrister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, as the Northern consensus candidate for the position of National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), represents one such defining moment for our great party.
As members of the Kebbi PDP Lawyers’ Forum, we proudly and unequivocally express our solidarity and support for our learned colleague and distinguished son of Kebbi State. Barr. Turaki embodies not only the intellectual depth and moral integrity that the PDP urgently needs but also the unifying vision to restore the party’s glory across Nigeria.
A man of character, Turaki has consistently demonstrated an uncommon commitment to democratic ideals, national unity, and social justice. From his tenure as Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs to his role as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Peace in Northern Nigeria, he has proven himself a bridge-builder who listens, mediates, and delivers results with dignity.
In a time when our party must rise above internal divisions and rediscover its moral purpose, Barr. Turaki stands as a symbol of renewal someone whose loyalty is to the ideals of democracy, not the politics of convenience. His deep understanding of law, governance, and national cohesion uniquely positions him to guide the PDP toward reform, discipline, and renewed public trust.
For us in Kebbi, this nomination carries a special meaning. It is not merely a political endorsement it is a homecoming of honour. Barr. Turaki’s journey reflects the intellectual resilience and ethical leadership that Kebbi State has always offered Nigeria. We are equally delighted to welcome the readiness of other progressive minds to join this collective movement to reposition our great party. Together, we shall defend, protect, and advance the interest of the PDP at the state level and beyond.
As we align ourselves with His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, and other distinguished party leaders who have championed this consensus, we reaffirm our belief that this decision is a step toward unity, integrity, and purposeful leadership.
In the ever-evolving landscape of Nigerian politics, few moments test a party’s strength and soul like the choice of its leadership. Today, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stands at a crossroads between renewal and regression, we, members of the Kebbi PDP Lawyers’ Forum, proudly and wholeheartedly declare our support and solidarity with our own esteemed colleague, Barrister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, on his nomination as the Northern consensus candidate for the position of National Chairman of the PDP.
This endorsement, emerging after broad consultations and the inclusive deliberations of Northern leaders as announced by His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, is not merely a political decision—it is a reaffirmation of values.
