A Turkish agricultural manufacturing firm, Abollo Agricultural Machinery Company, has indicated interest in establishing a tractor assembling plant in Yobe state.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Mr. Tevfik Gumus disclosed this when a delegation from the state visited the company in Konya, Turkey, on Friday.
He said the plant will assemble the tractors with complete accessories and equipment needed for agriculture, from planting to harvests to make farming easy, attractive, and profitable to farmers in the state.
Tevfik assured that the company will also produce equipment that are suitable for the state topography and climate and the North East in general.
“We provide solutions to agricultural challenges from Planting to harvests.
“The company also works on soil prepation and testing, training, and equipment”, he said.
The CEO indicated the willingness of his company to partner Yobe state government to design, manufacture, and establish a plant in the state to serve it and other states that are close to it.
In a statement by his DG Press and Media Affairs, Governor Buni assured the preparedness of his administration to partner private investors and to provide the necessary incentives to the company and other investors.
He said Yobe state government is committed to improving agricultural production to ensure food security and sufficiency.
“We are determined to improve agriculture through irrigation, fight food scarcity, and unemployment to boost our economy”, Buni said.
