A civil society organization, grassroots advocacy for peace and good governance operating in Kebbi state, on Friday appealed to Kebbi state branch of Nigeria bar association ( NBA) to reconsider it’s decision directing members to boycott Court proceedings in nine local governments over the abduction of their colluegue.
The National Chairman of the CSO, comrade Usman Muhammed Anache, in a statement described their action as unjust and unfair as their sole order is affecting so many suspects awaiting trials in the courts they ordered their members to boycott ” we are not pleased with the order because innocent citizens of Kebbi state seeking justice in those courts are being denied justice for offence they didn’t commit”.
Anache explained that no governor across the country is deeply friendly to NBA like Dr Nasir Idris therefore is surprising that they took such hasty decision over a kidnapping incident which took place in Ibeto under Magana local government area of Niger state.
They contended that the respectful bar bench should review their order to foster peace in order to allow for quick dispensation of justice to those awaiting trials in the affected courts.
While we symphatise with the victim and his family we pray for his quick release and we joined NBA to push for his freedom even as we condemned in strong terms his unfortunate abduction the statement added.
