Kebbi Health ministry inducts 261 nurses, midwives into state civil service

The Kebbi state government under the leadership of Dr Nasir Idris, on Tuesday absorbed into state civil service at least two hundred and sixty one nurses and midwives who completed their studies from the state college of nursing sciences.
Commissioner for health Kebbi,Yunusa Ismail made the disclosure in Birnin Kebbi during the orientation programm organised by branch of National association of Nigerian nurses and midwives geared towards preparing the new nurses and midwives on how to fully integrate into the society as secondary healthcare givers.
The Commissioner of health who was represented by the permanent secretary , Kebbi state ministry of health, Dr Abubakar Zaki said that the induction is necessary as it will broaden their scope of understanding in terms of giving healthcare services in public hospitals ” life out the school environment is different from the one in public health facilities therefore its important to give them some sort of orientation to prepare them for the tasks ahead of them” he said.
Zaki admonished them to maintain the ethics of nursing profession which is absolute care for the patients under their care, he also urged to further their education not to limit themselves to the knowledge they earlier acquired.
Also speaking at the induction ceremony, the Kebbi branch Chairman of National association of Nigerian nurses and midwives, Nurse Kelani Abdulwaliyu commended the government for immediately absorbing the new nurses into the state civil service saying there is yet another batch of them which the governor has given approval ” we are greatly indebted to the governor for his concern and care for nurses and midwives in Kebbi state”.
The ceremony which was held at Kebbi college of nursing sciences was attended by seasoned retired and serving old and experience nurses.
