
About four residents of Ikpakpara community in Agu-Amed, Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzu local government area of Enugu State, have been killed by people suspected to be killer herdsmen.
Several others are still missing as all efforts are been made to recover the missing residents who might be dead or still alive.
Although the details of the attack were still unfolding said a community leader mr Ogbuzuru Ebe , “We have recovered four bodies of people killed on their farms. We are looking for seven people who are still missing after the attack.”
This attack is the latest in a series of violent assaults by suspected killer herdsmen in Eha-Amufu, that have resulted in the untimely deaths of scores of residents among them are farmers and sexual violence against women.
The leaders community have expressed anger and frustration, lamenting the government’s inability to prevent these attacks or engage the assailants.
The community Residents have accused the leadership of the local government of not doing enough to support security efforts in the area. The residents are calling on the government to take immediate actions to stop further attacks and protect the lives of the people.
This insecurity incident has reignited concerns about the security situation in Enugu State and the need for urgent action to address the killer herdsmen crises
Moreover, this attack comes barely 24 hours after Enugu state police commissioner, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, visited Eha-Amufu in what he described as routine surveillance and confidence-building patrols to rural communities.
The commissioner was accompanied on the patrol by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, DCP Gregory Itobore; Udenu Area Commander, ACP Bernard Amaga Ukwa; heads of tactical and operational units; and other senior officers of the Command.
