The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has tendered more exhibits at the Presidential Election Tribunal Court in Abuja to nullify the victory of Bola Tinubu at the presidential election.
On Tuesday, Obi and the Labour Party tendered forms containing a summary of registered voters from Osun, Edo, Niger, and Sokoto states as well as results sheets and reports used by the Independent National Electoral Commission during the election.
Recall that the LP and Obi are challenging the outcome of the election in which Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress was announced as the elected president by INEC.
At the beginning of proceedings on Tuesday, Peter Afoba, SAN, counsel for the LP and Obi, produced forms EC40GPU and EC40G1, which contain a summary of registered voters in polling units and local governments where elections were cancelled or did not take place.
The presentation featured 45 EC40GPU forms in Niger State’s ten local government areas, 23 in Osun’s seven local government areas, 17 in Edo State’s three local government areas, and 52 EC40GPU forms in Sokoto’s five local government areas.
Obi also submitted 15 forms of EC40G in eight Osun State local government areas, 12 forms of EC40G1 in 12 Edo local government areas, 15 forms of EC40G in four Sokoto local government areas, and nine forms of EC40G1 in two Sokoto local government areas.
The petitioners also submitted five reports on election behavior in Niger State and eight in Edo to back up their allegations of electoral misconduct.
INEC Results Viewing reports were also made available in 21 local government areas in Adamawa State, 20 in Ogun State, 16 in Ekiti State, 19 in Rivers State, and 25 in Akwa Ibom State.
Despite the respondents in the petition’s objections to the exhibits’ admissibility: INEC, Tinubu, vice-president Kashim Shetima, and the All Progressives Congress, chairman of the PEPC, Justice Haruna Tsammani approved them as evidence.
The court later fixed June 14 for further hearings of the matter.
