Zamfara boils again as terrorists invade community, abduct many

Zamfara State is in the news again with the reported abduction of seven persons by armed bandits, who invaded Bungudu town, headquarters of Bungudu Local Government Area of the state.

Among the seven people abducted by the heavily armed terrorists were two men and five women.
One person was also killed by the hoodlums during the attack on the town, said to be about 20 kilometers from Gusau, the state capital.

The victims were identified as Prince Abdulrahman Hassan Attahiru, one of the sons of the Emir of Bungudu; former State programme officer of the IPAD, three wives of one businessman, Alhaji Umaru Sanda; wife of one Abdullahi Zubairu; and wife of one Hamisu Rabi’u.

No demand for ransom has been made so far but the victims’ families have preferred not to talk about it, at least for now.
The community had only recently been in the news when
bandits attacked the divisional police headquarters in the area, leaving one ASP Nura Ibrahim dead.
