Ngaski LG Leaders Laud Sen. Bagudu’s Leadership for Facilitating Lifeline Infrastructure in Kebb

Leaders in Ngaski Local Government Area of Kebbi State have commended Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, for facilitating the repairs of the 76.5-kilometre Malando-Ngaski-Wara-Auna Road, which links Kebbi and Niger states, serving as a vital corridor between Northern and Southern Nigeria.
The Federal Government, through the Federal Ministry of Works, commenced the road’s rehabilitation, on January 28, 2025 the route is strategic for economic and social activities, historically plagued by neglect and deterioration.
Speaking on the development, Hon. Mamuda Mohammad-Warra, former Commissioner for Lands and Housing in the state, hailed Sen. Bagudu’s efforts in transforming what was once considered an “impossible dream” into a tangible reality.
“ The long-awaited Malando-Ngaski-Wara-Auna road is finally taking shape under the leadership of Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, former governor and now Minister of Budget and Economic Planning.
“ Sen. Bagudu, widely known as a visionary and selfless leader, has shown that true leadership is about service.
“His inclusive approach to development across ethnic and regional lines is exemplary,” he said.
Mohammad-Warra also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for responding swiftly to the people’s appeal and addressing infrastructure challenges in the state.
“ There’s no way the economic fortunes of Northern Nigeria can improve with dilapidated roads,” he added.
On his part, former Chairman of Ngaski LGA, Hon. Abdullahi Buhari-Warra, described the ongoing work as one of the most significant infrastructure achievements in the region.
“ This road, once a symbol of neglect, is now a beacon of economic revival.
“ Currently, Epsilon Sky Global, the contractor, has scarified and cleared over 55 kilometers. Asphalt is being laid on a primed stone base, while rigid reinforced concrete pavement is being constructed with shoulders on both sides.”
According to Buhari-Warra, the impact has been immediate:
“ Travel time has been cut by more than 50%, and the incidence of accidents and vehicle breakdowns has sharply declined.
“We also commend the contractor for his professionalism and speed,” he said.
Motorists and residents plying the road echoed the leaders’ sentiments they credited Sen. Bagudu’s synergy with federal authorities as a true manifestation of the Renewed Hope Agenda in Kebbi.
“ As the road nears completion, we are filled with gratitude and prayers for the leaders driving such progress,” said a group of drivers interviewed.
Also speaking, Engr. Hussaini Abubakar, Project Manager at Epsilon Sky Global, emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering quality work within schedule.
“ We’ve established a modern project yard with advanced machinery and a skilled workforce to ensure timely execution.
“ This aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for critical infrastructure and inclusive growth across Nigeria,” he said.
Abubakar also acknowledged the leadership of President Tinubu, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi, Minister David Umahi of Works, and Minister Bagudu for their collaborative efforts.
“ We assure all stakeholders that we remain fully committed to the contractual terms and to delivering excellence,” Project Manager assured.
