Describes action as politically motivated and a cooked up stories
Kebbi state government under the leadership of Dr Nasir Idris has rejected claims and unwarranted cristism from people outside Kebbi state that the conditions of health facilities in the state are in poor state.
Addressing a press conference in Birnin Kebbi, on Thursday, the Commissioner for information and culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK said that critics of health infrastructure in Kebbi state has fallen short of facts on the ground because they are not residing in Birnin Kebbi to see the actual conditions of health facilities in the state ” much as we believe in cristism but we disagree with isolated cases one cannot conclude that health facilities in Kebbi are in bad because of one out of many”.
He stressed that , Idris came barely two years and met a huge infrastructure deficit in almost all the sectors which he is working hard to address and he never promised the people of Kebbi state that he will address all of them in one swoop” successive governments in Kebbi did their best but at the same time left some decaying infrastructure in many sectors therefore is ridiculous to think Idris will overnight solve all of them.”
Yakubu challenged critics to visit sir Yahya memorial hospital and Kebbi medical center in Kalgo and many other primary healthcare centers for holistic and critical assessment of the progress made in such health facilities.
He posited that so many health facilities are in the state are under repairs and many others being constructed to meet health demands of the populace .
On the arrest of the man who sent pictures of hospital bed without mattress was done without the approval of Kebbi governor ” overzealous civil servant effected his arrest not Kebbi governor and on receipt of the information of his arrest the governor ordered for his immediate release and reprimanded the public officer”.
Ahmed noted that facts about infrastructure in Kebbi are glaring and accessible to everyone who cares to know or see saying those who visited the state capital Birnin Kebbi before can now revisit to see the rapid turn around in terms of infrastructure.
He urged outsiders to avoid jumping into wrong conclusions and to personally visit Kebbi to see things for themselves before going to social media to brandish lies to rubbish efforts being made by Idris led government in all sectors.
