Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN) Kebbi State Ministry of health chapter has commended the governor of Kebbi state, Dr Nasir Idris for the timely creation of the department of medical laboratory services under the state ministry of health.
The chapter Chairman of the association, Comrade Mas’ud Iliyasu Idris in a statement on Wednesday described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of Kebbi state ” since our existence as a critical component in the healthcare sector we never had a department dedicated to us, hence our reason to commend the governor for approving the immediate establishment of medical laboratory services department in line with the recommendation of national Council of establishment”.
Masud noted that the department will boost the morale of all medical laboratory scientists in Kebbi and would inevitably advance quality laboratory diagnostic services and overall healthcare service delivery. “
With the creation of the department, according to him, medical laboratory scientists will now enjoy career progression to their peak potential in the civil service like other healthcare practitioners in the state.
He added that the creation of the department will give more confidence and spur all medical laboratory practitioners to contribute more in their career profession, which is inevitable in evidence based medical practice.
